Visa: Be Aware of the Acai Scam
Posted under Acai Berry by leeAcai is a very nutritional food supplement and has a lot of benefits when taken regularly. Claims that it can cure cancer are just an exaggeration and have no scientific proof. Online merchants wanting to take advantage of the Acai hype make superficial claims about the product. This is to mislead the readers into buying the product.
There are also Acai merchant sites offering free trial of the product. The site will ask for the credit card details of the user for the shipping and handling of the free trial Acai product. The product will then be sent to the user.
However, the free trial Acai product is just to trick the user into revealing their credit card number of the user. Once the merchant gets a hold of the credit card details, they will automatically enlist the user to a monthly subscription of the available products from the site without the user’s consent.
A monthly bill from the Acai products will constantly be included in the credit cards payments of the user. Because of this kind of marketing and the piling complaints of online users, Visa closed 100 Acai merchant accounts. Hopefully, this will put a stop to misleading way of marketing Acai products.
